Checking Patient Eligibility

Synergy EMR provides two methods for verifying a patient's eligibility—one for patients not yet added to the system and another for existing Medicare patients.


1. How do I check eligibility for a new patient before creating an intake?

If you want to verify eligibility without entering any patient information into the system:

  • From the Home Screen, click Check Eligibility.

2. How do I check eligibility while creating a new patient intake?

If you are adding the patient to Synergy EMR and want to check eligibility during intake:

  • Go to Patient > New Patient with Eligibility Check.

3. How do I check eligibility for an existing patient?

For patients already in the system:

  1. Look up and open the patient's record.

  2. Go to the Patient Intake section.

  3. Open the Insurance tab.

  4. Click the Check Eligibility button.
